Task Properties: Source

Depending on the Task's type of action, you can select one or more source folders here. If it is Synchronization, select one folder, for Backup you can select any number of source folders.

Tip:
You can use Folder Expansion Variables in source folder names.

Selecting one source folder (for Backup or Synchronization)

Press Browse... to select the folder containing the files you want to copy. Or type the folder path in the field next to this button.



Check "Include Subfolders" to include subfolders in the backup.


Examples:

A folder on your computer may be called

c:\My Documents\Tasks

or a folder on another computer in a network may be called

\\DataServer\Shared\CarreyÆs Files

Selecting multiple source folders (for Backup)

Press "Multiple Source Folders >>" to specify several source folders in the same Task.

Press the button highlighted above to open additionl controls (shown in the red oblong below):

To add a new folder to the list, type the full path in the Source Folder field (or press "Browse..." and find an existing folder) and then press "Add". Here, too, you can specify whether to include subfolders in the backup by checking "Include Subfolders" before pressing the "Add" button.

The "Edit" and "Remove" buttons are for editing the Source Folder(s) list.

Alternatively, you may find it convenient to just press "Select Multiple Folders" and check the appropriate boxes, as shown below.
